Julie Raposo, MS, LPCA

Program Director

Julie Raposo is a Mental Health Counselor at Ridgebury Farm, where she works with individuals and families through equine-assisted therapy to support connection, confidence, emotional awareness, and resilience. Horses have been part of her life since childhood, growing up on the racetrack where both of her parents were jockeys and later trainers.

About 15 years ago, Julie volunteered at an equine therapy facility and immediately knew she wanted to pursue this work professionally. That experience led her to earn her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University (LIU Post) after completing her undergraduate studies at Marist College. She has also completed specialized training in equine-assisted approaches, including EAGALA and Natural Lifemanship, and brings additional experience in substance use counseling.

Julie’s approach is compassionate, relational, and grounded in creating a safe space for both people and horses to connect authentically.
